Photo Number 322

Maggie mac and Friend BVA

This is a Real Photo Postcard, it is a Cyco Postcard from 1906 to 1915.  On further investigation, the Nordin Bros of Minneapolis, Elmer and Fred were only in business from 1914 to 1918..so therefore we can date this photograph 1914 or 1915.

Their coats and skirts look warm, but whoever is wearing the light colored hat is pushing the season a bit.  I can only imagine how slippery those shoes were in ice or snow..or do you suppose they wore ladies boots or galoshes?

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

  1. Their shoes are so dainty! I'm enjoying your collection of "hat" photos Connie.

  2. Are the buttons on the shoes or are those spats? (used to keep feet warm and in style!)

  3. I almost didn't comment as I didn't want to ruin the trail of comments from bloggers beginning with 'm'!

They look very elegant, particularly the lady in front. I also am enjoying the hat series of photos very much. Hope you have a good weekend. :-)

  4. marlu, Yes! Those do look like spats..thanks for pointing them out! I thought that they were just ankle boots with fancy buttons..but on second look..I believe you are correct! :)

  5. I like the white hat - its not as "wild" as some of the others you've shown us!
