Jesse had a son named Herbert A (5 Sep 1913 - 12 Jul 1991) and three daughters, Dorothy L. (c. 1916), Erma L (c. 1924) and Genevieve L. (c. 1928),
This is a snapshot from the Tin Ceiling in Park Rapids Minnesota.
A dress with a big bow and a dropped waist. Looks like she is wearing silk stocking too! This photo is most likely from the 1920’s.

There is a Westhope North Dakota way up in the northern part of the state in Bottineau County.
This is the photo I chose for Thanksgiving…this group looks like they are traveling someplace…perhaps to a dinner with family.
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for reading.
This is a CdV from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
I bought this CdV because of the bustle and the strange trim on the front of this gals dress. It looks to be some kind of beaded decoration. I am not sure if it is Native American or not.
The photographer was E.S. Hill from St. Cloud Minnesota. He was in business from 1888 to 1914. I will guess that this photo was taken in 1888 or thereabouts.
Thanks for stopping by.
Close up of the trim.
This is a CdV from the Third Antique Shop in Dorset Minnesota.
John Phillips was in Lake City Minnesota from 1878 to 1879 according to the Minnesota Historical Society Photographer listings. A son took over for him…and then John moved on to Red Wing. There are several Photographers with the last name Phillips.
The lady wears a dress with a bustle…it might be what they call a Natural Form Bustle which is a straight skirt that hugs the legs. Natural Form Bustles were in fashion from 1877 to 1882.
The high collar and long sleeves with pleats and trims and the bodice with pleats and buttons and a bow at the waist are all very interesting.

I am happy to report another Full Circle. Iggy found an obituary and from there a name and an address.
I sent off a copy of the blog.
I heard from Marilyn…the baby in Photo Number 1740
I received your letter and if the photo is 1943 it is not me. I was born in 1944. However, the baby looks about the right age of a month or so and that would have been right since my birth was in April. Yes, please send the pic to me. If it is not me in the photo then I will get it to the right cousin. Thanks
I suggested that perhaps the year is wrong.
I mailed off the photo.
Connie,
Thank you for the picture. My Grandma, Laura, had gorgeous auburn hair. Only one cousin of 17 cousins was lucky enough to get the red hair.
I am sending you something for the postage and handling. Keep up the good work.
Marilyn
When people mark photos often they are elderly…photos can be miss marked by a year.

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Park Rapids Minnesota.
I wonder if the young girl did the embroidery on her dress? This is an Azo Postcard with triangles up and down which would date the photo from 1918 to 1930.
Thanks for stopping by.
This is a photo from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
I wonder if this was taken in a studio with lots of plants or if the photographer took this image in the ladies home?
It was probably taken right around 1900.
Thanks for stopping by.
This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Dorset Minnesota.
Four girls and a little boy. The two girls on the right look like twins to me.
The Postcard is not a normal one…so it is impossible to date. I will guess that this one is from around 1920.

This is a photo from the first antique shop in Dorset Minnesota.
Always, Dorothy
Too bad we don’t know Dorothy’s last name. I think this photo is from the 1930’s. Most likely a graduation photo.

Spenser M. LaFore (16 Feb 1905 - 22 Nov 1991)
Mari left me a comment on the blog:
Napoleon and Olive LaFore were my grandparents. Harry was my father. I recognize all the other names as relatives.
She contacted me by email and I mailed off the photo. We corresponded by email.
I just put this photo of my son when he was in high school next to Napoleon's photo...what do you think?
This is a good time to say that one picture is worth a thousand words! This too is weird...when I mentioned to my son Dustin, that my grandmother's name was Olive he said that just a few days before that Danielle had said that maybe they could name their baby Olive it is a girl! That is NOT a common name at all...just one more piece of the puzzle from the past for our family ;)
BTW, you are an angel for what you are doing! You are connecting loved ones that may have never had the chance to "meet"...in this lifetime anyway!
Mari
I asked about a Full Circle Post:
Maybe we could put that photo of Napoleon alongside of Dustin (his great grandson) on that FULL CIRCLE POST.
It's as if they were looking for us too because with an hour of my discussion with my son they appeared on your blog.
You are a conduit for the living and those crossed over and you bring them together in a most delightful way.
Heartfelt thanks.

A very elegant lady in a heavy looking dress with lots of ruffles and trims. I think this is most likely from the 1870’s.

Iggy found an address for this Full Circle and I sent off a copy of the blog. ( Often I do that…many times my letter is just ignored…some people are just not interested.)
Melvin was thrilled. I was happy to return the photo to him.

A group of Soldiers with children. This photo is probably from the 1950’s.
I searched for a name on that water tower in the background…it must be on a Army Base as it has no name that I can see.
