Well it is a wedding photo. It is Charles Rae Emch Sept 23 1898 in Nebraska and Died May 17 1977. He married Melvena Feb 22 1918. Melvena Hanson 1901 -1938 They had three children Ceata Edyth, Donald E and Ronald.
Charles married again in 1941 to Lola Mae Forrester.
Charles parents are Nicholas Emch and Rachel Rebecca Torrence.

I was glad both photos were marked.  I have no idea where these photos were taken. I know they are not in the best of shape but for their age thery are doing pretty good, some photographers work fared better than others.  I think these photos were taken 1895 to 1900.

This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Laporte Minnesota.

Heighstedt of 226 & 228 Washington Ave Minneapolis Minn was the photographer. He was in business there from 1890 to 1897.

The couples clothing looks early 1890’s to me. In fact the mans suit being buttoned only at the top was very popular about 1885.

The back of the card shows a different photographer but at the same address. Oleson Gallery…it seems Mr. Andrew Heighstedt married Anna G. Oleson in 1889 and took over the Oleson Studio renaming it.

Henry Bury (1895 in Illinois - 1994) : Find A Grave Memorial# 37623870, married Ruth Williams (1894 - 1992) : Find A Grave Memorial# 37623871 sometime between 1910 and 1920. I suspect the photo is there wedding photo.

They lived in Stockland, Iroquois, Illinois. Henry was a "grain farmer."

The 1930 US census lists them with the following children:
Helen D Bury 14
Evelyn A Bury 12
Catherine J Bury 10
Donald R Bury 8

An older couple all set to go someplace with their hats.  This is a Noko postcard used from 1907to 1920. This is close to the 1907 time frame, her gown is still pigeon breasted.  Sadly this couple will remain unknown as there is no clue to their idenity.

Pakonen in Virginia Minnesota was the photographer.  W. Henry Pakonen was at 103 North Second Ave W in Virginia Minnesota from 1914 to 1923.

I will guess that this photograph was nearer to the 1914 date. Noko postcards were used from 1907 to the 1920’s.

This is a photo from the antique shop in Duluth Minnesota.

The Frans’ Studio in Duluth Minn was the photographer.  Turns out his name was Andrew P. Frans and he was in Duluth at 323 West Superior in 1898 and at 223 West Second during 1905.

This is most likely a wedding photograph. The man wears a tiny flower on his lapel and a pretty wild tie.  The woman must like bows as she wears one on her dress and one in her hair.

William L Smith was the photographer.

I think this is a photo from the 1920s. It looks like Esther has a short haircut with some curls on both sides of her forehead.  In the early 1920’s it was quite scandalous to cut your long  hair short, the new look was a bob that was either straight or curly.

It looks like a W.L. Smith was a photographer in Duluth. On the 1940 census I found an Esther Burke (wife) age 41, George M Burke (head)age 65 and Kenneth MacDonald (father-in-law) age 68, living in Duluth.

In the US census of 1920, Alma nee Johnson (born 1874 in Sweden, daughter of August) is shown with husband Alfred Nelson. They lived in Coitsville, Mahoning, Ohio. Alma had a lot of children - but I didn't find Stanley.

Caroline Behning nee Dreyer (Jan 1847 - 10 Dec 1946) was the wife of John T Behning. Sometime between 1880 and 1900, the Behning family moved to Duluth, St Louis, Minnesota.

The 1900 US Census shows they had children (with age in 1900):
John F Behning 21 ( John Frederick 1878-?)
Edward F Behning 17
Christian Behning 15  (Christian Carl 1885 -1973)
Morris Behning 12  (Morris Albert 1887 -1961)

In the 1880 Census the children are:
