This photo is from the antique shop in Pequot Lakes Minnesota.

On the bottom right is a mark; Vernon Studio Glenwood, Minn.  They were in business in the 1940’s.

The groom wears a double breasted pinstriped suit with a flower and a bit of a fern in his lapel.  The bride wears a white gown with a fingertip veil and she carries a large bouquet of flowers.

I will guess this photo is from the late 1940’s.

This is a photo from the Antique Mall in Alexandria Minnesota.

The photographer was the Taylor Studio in New Bremen Ohio.  It is displayed in a wonderful Art Deco inspired folder.  I thought at first that this was a 1950’s photo…but now I am thinking it might be from the late 1930’s.

The bride wears a white gown with a sweetheart neckline and a long train. She wears a fingertip veil trimmed in daisies and held high on her head with a crown.  She carries a large bouquet of ferns and carnations.  The only jewelry we see is a necklace with a cross.  The groom wears a single breasted pin stripe suit and a single carnation in his lapel, his wedding band is visible.

The photographer is Newburg Studio in Minneapolis Minnesota. I can find references to them being in business but the dates are elusive.

This is a photo that I purchased at a garage sale near Grand Rapids Minnesota.

He is wearing a suit and she is wearing a dress with a slightly dropped waist.  The dress is a light color.  They are both wearing flower corsages and she is holding something covered in tulle…perhaps with a few flowers.  I can see his wedding band but not hers.
I will guess that this is a photo from the late 1920’s or early 1930’s.

Bertha and "Cap" were married September 26, 1923 in Iowa.  They moved to Clear Lake South Dakota.  Bertha was born 1905 and died in 2008 at the age of 103.  Casper was born in 1897 and died in 1974.  They had seven children,

The name of the town is Weißenfels / Weissenfels. It is located in the county of Saxony-Anhalt on the river Saale. According to newspaper articles from 2002 and 2012 (Mitteldeutsche Zeitung) the photographer Hugo Kind opened his studio in 1920. He was well known in town. The studio was also referred to as 'Foto-Kind', and it is still in business under this name up to today.

This photo features the bride and groom sitting down.  The same three little girls as yesterday are in the photo.  The bride and groom are different.

Photo Number 1935

This is a photo from the antique shop in Laporte Minnesota.  Dave is known as The Peddler.  He bought a whole box of photos at a church garage sale…I bought the whole box from him.

The photographer was Solomon Friedman at Friedman Studio 240 – 242 Cedar Avenue Minneapolis Minn he was at that address from 1908 to 1915.

I wonder if this was a sample photo?  I also wonder if the photographer had three little girls? These three little girls will be in tomorrows photo also.

Another unknown couple.   The groom wears a three piece pin stripe suit and a flower with a large bow.  The bride wears a blouse and a skirt with a matching flower and bow, she also wears an almost floor length bridal bonnet that looks to be trimmed with flowers.

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.  It is an AZO postcard with triangles up so we can date it from 1904 to 1918.

The groom wears a suit with a flower in his lapel.  The bride looks to be wearing a short satin jacket with buttons both on the sleeves and the bodice over a gown, she clutches a small sprig of flowers and wears a full length bridal bonnet trimmed in flowers and trailing vines.  Neither look real happy and he looks to be the younger of the couple.

This is an AZO postcard with triangles up in the stamp box so we can date it from 1904 to 1918.   From the women’s dresses most likely closer to the 1904 timeframe.

The groom wears the obligatory three piece suit with flowers in his lapel.  The bride wears a white gown with lacy trim, the gown has a high neck.  She wears a flower on her dress and a full length bridal bonnet adorned with flowers.  I can also see her wedding band.

On the front of the photo on the right side is a photographers note in pencil…1col woman.  On the back also in pencil are what appear to be instructions…hair, eyes etc… since it is pencil it is really hard to read.  I think I have deciphered a name Mr. Rautio  723 Washington.

His parents emigrated from Søndre (South) Land in Norway, and Peter was a member of Landingslaget (a society for people from Land in Norway): http://www.landingslag.org/ . There was some links to Land and Landingslaget in a previous post, I seem to remember.

(Both Nystuen and Smedsrud are farms in Nordre Land (North Land).)

O.E. Flaten used the Halstad address in 1894 and 1895 so that is the date we will pick for this photo.

I bought this photo for three reasons.  Can you guess why?

The handsome groom wears a three piece suit and a white bow tie along with a watch fob and a flower in his lapel.  The bride wears a not light not dark colored gown.  The gown has ruffles and trims on the bodice, the sleeves are huge also with ruffles.  The bride wears a full length bridal bonnet trimmed with flowers, she carries a bouquet and I believe there are flowers around her neck too.

2. The groom is blonde.

3. The crochet work that adorns the small table where the groom is resting his arm.

The Minnesota Historical Society has no mention of this photographer. I emailed them a copy of the photo so they can update their information.

I will guess that this photo was taken about 1895.
