4th of July Mc Cook Lake
1913? 1900?
Grandma Celia Farrington, Aunt Esther, Marvin Norton, Aunt Delia, Uncle Ed, Gramp
This is a Velox Postcard with diamonds in the corners of the stamp box so I believe it was used from 1907-1914.That would make it probably 1913 ?
Happy 4th of July from 102 years ago! Thanks for stopping by.
Update from Sue:
So here is who I believe these to be: Celia Etta Hoxie Farrington(b.1880), Esther Ruthama Hoxie Norton(b. 1883), Marvin Norton(b.1879), Delia Ethel Hoxie(b.1880), a twin sister to Celia (married name unsure), Uncle Ed is possible Delia's husband, or it could be Frank Edward Hoxie, a brother to the Hoxie sisters(I will do more searching), and finally, Gramp would be George Farrington (b.1870), Celia's husband. All of these folks resided in the Sioux City Iowa area.
According to a family tree I found, Marvin & Esther had three children: Ralph(1899), Clifford(1901), Sadie (1902). Esther would have been a young mother if these dates are correct, but I guess that wasn't all that uncommon back then.
I believe Celia and George only had one son, Elmer. Elmer had possibly only two children--Gordon, born in 1927, and Lila Mae, born about 1934.
