The photographer ia AJ Lacerty  of Wausau Wis 
It is most likely a photo taken on a Confirmation Day about 1900-1910, she is holding a rolled certificate in one hand and a small book perhaps a Catechism in the other.

We do have a relatives name on the back.

Possibly related through Caroline's brothers..Louis or Hiram Burnest

This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Alexandria Minnesota.

More than likely a First Communion photo.  J A Johnson was the photographer in Sauk Centre and Long Prairie Minn.  The Minnesota Historical Society says he was in business in Sauk Centre in 1902 and 1904 and there is no mention of Long Prairie…perhaps that was in 1903…but that is just a guess on my part.

This Memorial Day we will honor a fallen soldier.

Memorial Service for Otto F Weeks  August 18, 1945

I found that Otto F Weeks entered the service from Minnesota.

Birth: Unknown

Death: May 3 1945

He is buried at The Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Phillippines.

He was a Tec5 in the Army.  That is a special rank above a Corporal.

Rest in Peace Otto.  His Find A Grave Number is 56780666

I purchased this photo at the antique shop in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Nuns in some kind of a procession.  I wonder if they are coming from some kind of service on top of the hill since there are people up there.  If you enlarge the photo by clicking on it, you will see that there is a  young man part way up in the tree.  The children are watching and looking bored.  One of the ladies has one of those cloche hats on that was popular in the 1920’s..yet none of the men have hats on, perhaps they are holding their hats in their hands.

This is a photo that I purchased at one of the Antique Shops in Dorset.

It was in a folder.

I took it out of the folder to scan the entire image.

Was it taken in 1956, perhaps.  The Nuns face and hands have been partially tinted. The photo is on a postcard, that says “Made in Germany” on it and there are some lines for a message..but of course there is no message and no name.

I thought this was an appropriate “Good Friday” photo. Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

There is a very small mark on the large photo.

Hubertz is what I think it says.  I did find a J A Hubertz that was a photographer in Fargo, North Dakota from 1907 to 1936.  He was said to have an Electric Light Studio, taking photographs just as good in the evening as in the daylight.  I think that this photograph may date from 1907 to 1920 sometime because the young man is wearing knickers.

Mary (b. abt 1901) and John (b. abt 1903) to William J and Elizabeth Welsh. The 1920 US census lists them along with six younger siblings!

This is a photo taken by  J. Tessman at Wadena,  Minnesota..he was a photographer there in 1914.  Is this woman a Nun..or a Bride??  Since I am Missouri Synod Lutheran..I have no idea what the practices of the Catholic Church are. I am hoping that one of my readers will have an idea!

From Alberto: Some religious orders use to dress the postulants like a bride, when they enter to the novitiate. This moment, the Mother removes their bride veils and cuts their hair. 
Afterwards, the postulants retire to another room, where they dress their novice new habit and sometimes remove their footwear. Returning to the church, the Mother imposes them the novices white veil, and sometimes a thorns crown on it.
