This is a photograph from the Antique Shop in Perham Minnesota.
I saw this photo an snatched it right up..it was a dollar! A perfect late 1940’s perhaps even early 1950’s bride. An Ivory or white satin dress with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. You cannot see the end of the sleeves near her hands…I wonder did they come to a point to showcase her hands? The beautiful flowers are in the way. She wore a single strand of pearls.
I think she looks very hollywoodish! (Is that a word?)
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)
Very pretty bride - and "hollywoodish" is a good description! Mildred
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think she is beautiful too! I'm trying to decide if the "zebra-striped" love seat is a plus or minus. :)
ReplyDeleteI would have snatched that photo, too. With every fold in the dress carefully placed and the simple background, the bride is simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the satin dress. It just says glamour in an understated way.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely photo! I have a similar one of my mother on a red velvet couch and I just love that photo. I had wanted to have a similar one when I married but there were no couches around, lol.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful bride makes a beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteThis is fascinating because I recently bought a shot of a bride that has a similar couch in the background and light coming through a blind so that there are all sorts of geometric shapes in the photo emphasizing the folds in the gown. I too only paid a buck.
ReplyDeleteShe looks a lot like Joan Leslie.
