Mrs. Becker
The photographer is H.H. Bye Valley City N. D.
She is wearing a lovely fuzzy hat with ribbons trailing. Her two piece gown is trimmed in pleats, she wears a brooch and has a handkerchief tucked into the bodice of her gown.
Thanks for stopping by.
Reading a book? Different way to pose for a picture (photo).
ReplyDeletePossibly Amelia A Becker (Nov. 9, 1840 - Sep. 18, 1917) buried in Hillside Cemetery, Valley City, Barnes County, North Dakota. She immigrated to the USA in 1873. The 1900 US census says she could read and write, but was not naturalized.
ReplyDeleteFind A Grave Memorial# 76057065
Her husband was Otto C Becker - Find A Grave Memorial# 76057066
I was looking for someone born about 1860 to 1880...found one possibility. Too many Mrs. Beckers out there:(
DeleteI think Find A Grave Memorial# 120278073 might work - there is a photo of her on the memorial - you think?
DeleteYes I looked at her photo also. Perhaps some day a family member will come by! :)
DeleteAt first, I wondered if she were a teacher, with that book in the pose. Perhaps the book just has some significance for her. It does seem to be an unusual choice of prop for that time period.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, can you tell what is written on the pages? It doesn't appear to be from a typical book. Or maybe that's just my eyes :(
DeleteIt is hard to see. I think it might be a music book.
DeleteYes it looks like a Music Book:)
