This is a snapshot from the first antique shop in Dorset Minnesota.
A well dressed lady with a hat and an umbrella..she was determined not to get the sun on her face or to get wet. The dress has a pleated bodice that extends down past the natural waist. It has six huge buttons down the side and is calf length. The sleeves appear to be folded or pleated. She wears feathers in her hat and her gloved hands clutch the umbrella. She also wears a strand of jewelry of some sort.
My best guess is that this is a snapshot from the 1920’s.
Perhaps someone can identify the car in the background.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
Another great photo. Love her attire and the car!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress and hat. Seems so very twenties!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if more than one person was snapping photos that day. Even though this is a posed photograph, I like the perspective of this photographer captured because it seems more intimate or candid.
ReplyDeleteThose small double windows in the rear of that car are very distinctive. My old car buff father is away - traveling for a couple weeks. If I remember, I'll ask him when he gets back!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. I think the date is closer to 1915, soon afterwhich umbrellas quickly went out of style as a high-fashion accesory.
