Photo Number 329

Child in chairRP Azo Triangle up copy

This is a Real Photo Postcard.  It is from 1904 to 1918.  This little girl was all dressed up and her hair fixed in bows. Her dress was complete with a beaded necklace and she sat on a chair amongst the tall weeds.

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

  3. Maybelline, A Real Photo Postcard is one that is made from a real photograph. You could have them made at the photo studio and in the early 1900's there was a camera that took special paper that would create a postcard. Real Photo Postcards were just another way of expanding a photographers business by printing as many of these as people wanted..to send to friends or relatives:)

  4. What a nice touch that this photo portrait was taken outdoors...unlike so many of these old photos taken in a studio that have a much stiffer feeling about them.

  5. There is something strangely old and knowing about the girls expression. Like so many of these photographs, it is compelling.

  6. Bizzare setting - a fancy wood chair in the high weeds - I wonder if the flowers were pretty but with the septia/b&w are lost on film?
