Photo Number 1860

This is a Cabinet Card from Craig’s Collection.
Etta Smith Craigs
The photographer was Geo. L. Lamson at LaFargeville N.Y.
Etta Smith is how the photo is marked.
I will guess that it was taken around 1890 and that she was 30 years old.
We had another Smith in this collection Number 1847 was Anna V. Smith they may be related…who knows.
Thanks for stopping by.

Oleans is about 1 mile from LaFargeville and located near the Thousand Islands region of New York State.

    1. I can't prove it, but I think Etta married Louis P Wolohan (1863 - 1891 in Rochester, New York).

    2. If she married him after the 1880 census, and he died in 1891, then that wasn't a very long-lived marriage :(

    3. Louis died rather young at the age of 28 - and she married rather late. If this is the "right" Etta, she had one daughter - a Florence E. Taylor (abt 1885 - ?). The marriage could have lasted as little as 6 years. The New York, State Census, 1892 shows Louis is still alive at that date but he definitely died before 1900.

The widowed mother lived with the daughter's family for at least 25 years.
