He was a photographer at this address from 1891 to 1900.

  1. I think the state name is Nev(ada). There is a Gold Hill there (it is a Ghost Town) just south of Virginia City. There is an "E" street there.

    I would assume the lady is a girl friend or wife. I would also assume Bennit might be Bennett. There is a Charles Bennett mentioned in a Gold Hill mine accident.

  2. Finding Charles Bennett worked out well...but it still doesn't solve the problem of who the woman was. Too bad these photographers didn't offer their collections to an archives after retiring. We have a collector in town here (a business) which came into possession of a particular photographer's collection after he closed down his business. What a treasure! Wonder where all George Riel's works went...

    1. I don't know were his work went - but George himself moved to Fairhope, Alabama between 1904 and 1910 and became a farmer.
