Photo Number 1041

This is a photo from the antique shop in Brainerd.  One of the few servicemen that I have a name for.
Clarence Grieben Brainerd Antiques
Clarence Grieben/ Grisben  had his photo taken in California at Austin Studios sometime during the 1940’s.  He was in the Army.
Thanks for stopping by.  Do come again:)
Update from Jacqi:
There is an army record for a Clarence Grieben born March 1, 1910, enlisted in the Army April 10, 1942, release date October 7, 1945.

Update:  I found a Clarence E. Grieben who was born March 01, 1910 and died September 04, 1985.   Possibly he was born or raised in South Dakota.

  1. This might just be a case for Iggy...I can only find one record for a Clarence Grieben (none for Clarence Grisben), and I'm not sure it fits. It's a marriage license in Aberdeen, South Dakota, dated June 14, 1944. He's listed as 34 years of age at that time which would put him born around 1910, which doesn't look likely if your dating on this photo is right. His bride was Gladys E. Johnson. Several city directories continue to list the couple in the same town. There is also an army record for a Clarence Grieben born March 1, 1910, enlisted in the Army April 10, 1942, release date October 7, 1945. Not much more info...sure hope someone finds this guy's photo!
