Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)
Update from Iggy:
William Frederick Krueger (who was listed in the 1920 US census as William I.) born in 1874 to Daniel and Wilmenia 'Kreuger' in 1874 in Iowa.

William F. died in Cresco, IA in September 1965. He had nine children - so if (big if) this is "him" it's going to take a lot of digging!

Another possibility from Abra:
I found a different William I (or S, or D, depending on which census I am looking at). He was born in Minnesota and seems to have died in Minnesota, though he spent his working career in Chicago Illinois(1910 & 1920 census) and Detroit Michigan (1930 census) working as a telegraph operator. He was married to Kitty,; they had no children. I am sending a message to someone who has him in their tree to see if they can identify him.

  6. Found this image on Ancestry:

    Don't they look oddly similar?
Curly hair (albeit a little tamer) like your William.

I hope you find out who he is. Too bad there's not a photographer's imprint.

  7. The Archivist: I see the similarities. It certainly could be the same person or a relative. It looks as if we have quite a few angles to look at. Hope we have success. :-)
