I believe this photo was taken in the late 1920's. Does anyone know what this hat was called? This is a South Dakota/Illinois photo. It is not marked in anyway. The trim on the house is very ornate..Larry will know exactly what it is called!
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)
Update:
Norkio says Gingerbread Trim..and just a hat!
Larry says it is picket running trim. There are different forms of these old trims.
Cute picture and I'll check back in the comments later to find out the answers to the questions.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the hat either. I really like a house with a front porch -especially when it is trimmed so nicely like this one. I am glad the front porch tradition is returning.
ReplyDeleteTrim - gingerbread. Hat - ??? Is it a boy or a girl? That would seriously affect the name/type of the hat.
ReplyDeleteOf course I had to do more looking around, lol. I found an almost identical style in both 1920 and 1927 but nothing in between. It wasn't named, I think it's just a hat. :-)
ReplyDeletePicket running trim. I had to look it up because I first thought it was arrowhead running trim. Check out the great site I found that sells this stuff.

I am really behind on my reading.
Larry That is a really cool site..every kind of trim you could want! I wish I had a covered front porch:)
