Photo Number 108

I believe this photo was taken in the late 1920's.  Does anyone know what this hat was called?   This is a South Dakota/Illinois photo.  It is not marked in anyway.   The trim on the house is very ornate..Larry will know exactly what it is called!
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)
Update:
Norkio says Gingerbread Trim..and just a hat!
Larry says it is picket running trim.  There are different forms of these old trims.

  2. I don't know about the hat either. I really like a house with a front porch -especially when it is trimmed so nicely like this one. I am glad the front porch tradition is returning.

  3. Trim - gingerbread. Hat - ??? Is it a boy or a girl? That would seriously affect the name/type of the hat.

  4. Of course I had to do more looking around, lol. I found an almost identical style in both 1920 and 1927 but nothing in between. It wasn't named, I think it's just a hat. :-)

  5. Picket running trim. I had to look it up because I first thought it was arrowhead running trim. Check out the great site I found that sells this stuff.
