A snowy day. The sign says “No Parking”
Ironwood – The Principal with the funny cap on – and another teacher.
I wonder if Ironwood is in Michigan or Maine? Or perhaps some other State?
The sign on the left up and down says Ironwood, the cars appear to be from the 1930’s I think.
Thanks for stopping by.
Update from Iggy:
Ironwood Michigan in January of 1938 had a blizzard with record snow.

Looking around the web, we can find photos of the Ironwood sign clearly matching one found in Michigan.

Also, the photo seems to depict the Blizzard of 1938 where Ironwood was buried in snow ( http://michiganradio.org/post/think-januarys-weather-was-crazy-check-out-ups-blizzard-1938#stream/0 ) School children were "trapped in school" for 4 days.
I just watched a documentary on the blizzard of '38-'39. It's amazing how resilient the people were. They had to deal with the massive snow drifts for months.

ReplyDeleteOh, the minute I read the note, I was thinking Michigan. I had no idea there was another Ironwood!
