This is a photo from Craig’s Collection.
Wallace Tobias Craigs
Wallace Tobias Craigs
Egbert was the photographer at Atlantic Iowa
The fellows name is Wallace Tobias
He looks young to me maybe 14 or 15.
The photo is smaller than a cabinet card.  It measures 4 1/4 X 6 inches.
Thanks for stopping by.

I think this might be Wallace J. Tobias ( 1879-1963) whose parents were Jane and Eurana Tobias.
Wallace married Alphronia (Frona B. 1878 – 1963) on  Feb 21 1900.  They had two children Clyde Brenton and Clara May.  In the 1920 census Clyde was 17 and Clara was 9.    They lived in Adair Iowa.  Clyde Brenton Tobias married Lorraine West.

Wallace and Frona are buried in Guthrie County Iowa.

A Third child was named West Tobias and I found that Clara married a Johnson.

Clyde and Lorraine Tobias had a son named Richard "Dick" Raymond Tobias he was born June 25 1933 in Atlantic Iowa. He died October 21 2014. He is survived by his wife and two sons and a daughter.

  1. Both Wallace and Frona died the same year? I wonder if it was a car accident or something. Although, I know my own parents died within 9 months of each other. My Mother first.

    1. Hi Sam, Yes I thought that was curious too...but my Maternal Grandparents died the same year within three months of each other.

  4. The embossing on that photo frame looks exquisite. So much detail in some of those older business designs.
