Photo Number 819

This is a photo from the antique mall in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

Three Girls maybe sisters Little Falls Minn DL Antiques

Three gals with different dresses but with very similar hair updos and bows.  Are they sisters or friends?  We will most likely never know because this photo is not marked.

The photographer is Nelson who was from Sweden, he was in Little Falls Minn from 1898 to 1910.

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

  1. I love their clothes especially.

  2. I think sisters. They all have a bow too. I wonder waht happened after the picture was taken. Did they go out to lunch? They were dressed for a special day.

  3. They look like sisters to me too - same chin, same nose... same half frown.

  4. It is interesting how the photo is off kilter, leaning to one side. That is the best one? :-)

  5. I'm not too sure about sisters--cousins, maybe? There is the similarity of the chins, but the eyebrows have me confused. Too bad we'll never know.

  6. Same nose, same chin, same pucker to the lips. Only the eyebrows seem to differ. Even the two younger girls have the same hair style. Possibly mother and daughters? But I think mom and girls would be in a different pose if that were the case. I do think they are either all sisters or mother and children. Shame not to know, they are quite high society!

  7. Those Swedish girls sure were beautiful!

  8. I think this site is absolutely fascinating. I have family photos that are very very old myself that I have no clue who the people are. I also know who some of them are, and wish that I knew more about their lives. It's hard to imagine that although I never knew them, they are part of me, and I know someday people who are my descendants will exist who have no idea who I am or what I was like. It's humbling to say the least.

Anyway, thanks for this site! I've enjoyed looking and reading :)

I think they are sisters. They have the same nose. Sisters don't have to look exactly the same or wear the same clothing. They probably wore their very best, since photos were so rare in those days.
