Photo Number 173

This photo was taken sometime in 1934 or 1935. It was taken in my Grandparents yard, the photo was never marked.  They must have been friends of my grandparents. It gives you a good idea what everyday clothing looked like back then.  The garage behind them, is the "moonshine" garage.  My Grandpa had a still, the revenue agents found it and brought everything up in front of this garage and smashed it.  They also dumped the mash that was in the pig pen and the pigs got drunk.  My Mother recalls it vividly, she still laughs about the drunken pigs.
Thanks for stopping, do come again:)

  3. Oh how I love the moonshine stories. There are a few in my family as well, including drunken pigs (of both varieties-LOL!). This lady doesn't look entirely excited to be holding those fish!
