Photo Number 1205

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

I wonder what happened?  Was she born with just one arm?

The children are Clayton Felton and Elvera Felton .  The photo was taken In Mishawaka Ind. by C. F. Kaylor  and was sent to Miss Katie Shuber So. Bend RFD 6 Ind. Box 66

This is an AZO postcard  that we can date from 1904 to 1918.

Update from Iggy:
The 1910 US census shows Clayton E Felton (age 8) living with his parents George A and Emma in Madison, St. Joseph county, Indiana along with sister "Alvera" (age 4).
Clayton is listed as a school teacher and later principal in South Bend, Indiana.
He married M. Mae, and is buried  next to his parents.

Sister Elvera (30 Apr 1905 - 10 Dec 2001), married a George Marker and they are buried in nearby Woodland, St. Joseph County, Indiana. 

The 1940 US Census shows they had a daughter named Jennifer (b. circa 1932)


Elvera's daughter, Jennifer Marker, married Milton E. Shaul (2 Oct 1924 - 13 Mar 1990) and had a family that is still living in South Bend area.

  5. P.s., Katie Stuber (Catherine L. Stuber) was a neighbor circa 1910 in Madison, St. Joseph County. She was born 1893 and married Harry J Witwer on Feb 17 1912. Katie died in March 1977 in Mishawaka, St Joseph County.

    I've not a clue as to how this photo ended up in Minnesota. None of the Witwer's seem to have ever lived there.

  7. This is my great grandmother, I lived with her for awhile. I did keep some of her belongings when she passed. She has two arms, she may of had a slims on under the dress from an injury. She and her husband George lived in South Bend and Florida.

  8. Milton Shaul was my grandfather, Shaul is my maiden name. He has a son Dennis who is my dad and now resides in Arizona.
