This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
This young windswept gal is wearing an ankle length skirt and a white blouse that is pigeon breasted. This is a Artura Real Photo Postcard from 1910 to 1924. I will guess this one is close to the 1910 date.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
Is that a dock behind her. I first thought it was a plane but that was not a plane. Interesting turned pose.
ReplyDeleteyes I love the pose for this one!
ReplyDeletehow did "Real Postcards" work? Did folks just take photos and get prints made and decide that they wanted a certain one or ones made into postcards? Did they normally get just one or a small set of them to send to friends?
ReplyDeleteI think that there is a boat behind her - possible a cable ferry barge.
Yes, I believe Kodak was first they had a folding pocket camera that took photos postcard size and then Postcards could be ordered to be shared with friends and relatives. Later any negative could be made into a postcard. After 1907 it was all the rage to send your photo through the mail with a personal message. Prior to that messages were not allowed..unless of course it was hand delivered.
DeleteInteresting composition.
