This is a Real Photo Postcard from The Log Cabin Antique Shop near Park Rapids Minnesota.
Six gals. The photographer was William Elkjer he was a photographer in Willmar Minn from 1918-1928.
It is an Azo Postcard used from 1918 to 1930.
Miss Carlson Miss Munson
Rosella Don’t get scared
Miss Henjum Miss Stadsvold
Taken 2 mins before train time
I wonder if the photographer was hanging out at the Train Station looking for customers?
Thanks for stopping by.
I wonder if they were teachers? On the 1920 census there are two sisters named Henjum living in Kandiyohi County. Both are listed as teachers. Selma age 28 and Josephine age 26.
ReplyDeleteOdd ordering with the names - can't tell if the left column is the front/back row in the photo. Some of them seem to look a bit younger than the others.
ReplyDeleteI think MJM is has the "right" Henjum woman between the two - I vote for Josephine but it could well be Selma.
Perhaps Ethel K. Michels nee' Munson
Spicer, Kandiyohi, Minnesota, USA
Born: 8 May 1904
Died: 7 Jan 1996
This Ethel was a candy sales-person. They may have been (college or church) mates.
I think if you tip the names on the postcard to the right...the Don't get scared is in the bottom center.
DeleteLooking at the family names in the area at the time - I think Munson is actually Monson.
