This is a wedding photograph from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
The bride wears a wedding bonnet that is decorated with flowers. she also has a bouquet of flowers in her lap. Her dress seems shorter than most..and her shoes look to be regular shoes…they look like flats with square bows and a strap. The groom looks to be wearing a suit with a white bowtie..he is sitting quite casually. He has a single rose boutonniere.
I will guess that this photo was taken in the 1910’s.
The photo is marked Mr. Elmer Westling. Quite some time ago I returned some photos that were marked the same way to a relative of his. I will have to find time to go back through my emails and figure it all out.
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)
Update: Check out Full Circle 39 for more Elmer Westling photos. I will try to contact Annette again.
Very nice pic. Her shoes do look a little out of place - maybe her feet hurt!!!
ReplyDeleteThe casualness is fascinating. They look like they're waiting for the photographer to get their act together and unaware he's already taken the shot. I don't think I've ever seen one of these old wedding portraits this relaxed.
