This is a snapshot from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
It has a late 1910 to 1920’s feel to it. The gals have dark stockings..and it is hard to see if they have boots on or shoes. Dark stockings were worn until after WWI in 1918. Women in the wilds of the Midwest may have worn the dark stockings longer than other women. The hemline of the coats are between the knee and the ankle which is typical of the 1920’s.
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)
Gotta love those hats too... :)
ReplyDeleteMakes me shiver, just to look at all that snow!
ReplyDeleteLove all these snow pictures! Your comment on the stockings made me remember something my Great Aunt mentioned in a book she wrote. She talks about the styles of the 1920's. But her mother would not let her cut her hair off or wear any dresses that showed her ankles!
