Photo Number 1479

Here are the Hawaii photos that go with Katherine’s California Photos.

From Jack and Lousie 1951

I see so many things wrong with this photo… long sleeves and a fur in June..but then it is just draped over her arm.  They must have been arriving home in Hawaii.

  1. I found an entry in the Honolulu, Hawaii, Passenger and Crew Lists, 1900-1959:
Name: Louise Camacho, Age:45, Birth Year: abt 1906 Birth Place: Alabama
Port of Departure: Los Angeles, California - Departure Date: 8 Jun 1951
Port of Arrival: Honolulu, Hawaii - Arrival Date: 13 Jun 1951

She was traveling with her husband John C Camacho. The date matches exactly, "home" was in Hawaii.

    Corporal John C. Camacho (Oct. 26, 1895 in Hawaii Territory - Oct. 24, 1976)

Louise H Camacho (Jan. 6, 1906 in Alabama - Sep. 21, 1978) lived on 2513 Kuhio Ave, Honolulu and owned and operated Camacho Realty.

They had a daughter: Lucille Bernice Camacho Montiho (1929 - 2008) Her obit is here: http://archives.starbulletin.com/2008/07/10/news/obits.html (about 2/3 way down)

  2. Richard Medairy (March 22, 1927 - September 01, 1976) and his wife(?) Dorothy are shown taking a trip from Hawii to LA in 1954. At that time, traveling with them was a Margo Medairy (half-fare so her birthday was somewhere around 1942-1954). Margo appears to have lived in Hawaii
