This is a snapshot from Buggy Wheel Antiques.

Everyone is bundled up in their winter coats.  Only the men are wearing hats.  Since there is only one young child in the photo perhaps it was a gathering on a school day.

Take a good look at her coat..it looks almost like velvet.  It appears to have a dropped waist and some sort of matching belt with buttons.

I think this might be a Mom and her five children.  Her wrap or a blanket for one of the kids has been tossed over that small tree/bush. I wonder if the two little ones were twins?

This is a snapshot from the antique shop in Duluth Minnesota.


Frances Risdon is my best guess.  Her hat looks 1920’s to 1930’s to me.  I imagine the hat, coat and skirt to be red..how about you?  She looks like a teenager to me.
This could have been a photo taken in Duluth..the house in the background is built up high on the lot like many of the houses in Duluth.  Of course it could be many other cities in the snowy areas of this country.

Frances Elizabeth Risdon - born on October 25, 1906 in Saint Louis County [of which Duluth is the county seat]
Update From Iggy:
Frances Elizabeth Risdon (b. October 25, 1906) lived on 405 Vermillion Drive - and was a writer. Her parents were Ernest A. Risdon, a traffic manager(?) and Lida A nee Shultz. They are buried in Bee Ridge Cemetery, Edina, Knox County, Missouri. They moved to Missouri between 1930 and 1940 - with or without Frances (she doesn't appear in the 1940 US Census with them and presumably is married by then).

This is a very old snapshot that I found at the antique shop in Motley Minnesota.

Ice Skaters on a pond or a river…the ice looks really good!

I couldn’t resist this lovely old  My New Year Greeting postcard.  It must be almost 100 years old..the colors are still so bright. I love that the winter church scene is surrounded by a wishbone.
