ReplyDeleteI believe the text is (old "new") Norwegian, the word "helsning" points to western/mountain parts of Norway.
ReplyDeleteThere have been several names from the Setesdal, a mouintain valley in south of Norway, on the blog. Homme is place/farm in Setesdal (close to Valle), where google searches reveal that people has emmigrated from, to Minnesota/Dakota.
One mile south of Homme in Setesdal, one can find the farm Hoftuft. Might this be the last name of the author?
