Ralph must have had a pretty good day fishing, he has a whole stringer of Sunfish.  It takes a bit of balance to stand up in a rowboat.   I hope Duane was impressed!

Well these are our last two photos of this series of wedding photos.   This photo is from the Antique Shop in Perham Minnesota.

I believe that this photo is from 1967 or 1968.

 

This last photo was taken in December of 1969. My husband and I were very young..I was just barely eighteen.  We celebrated our 41st anniversary last December.  We have been best friends for over two thirds of our lives.

Thanks for joining me for this month of wedding photos, perhaps next year I will have collected enough for another whole month of wedding photos..I have a good start..I believe I have seventeen photos left over!

This is a photo that I purchased at a garage sale.

I believe that this photo is from sometime around 1949 or 1950.

My Mother wore a similar dress and her train was twirled around the front also.

This is my parents wedding photograph, they got married in 1950.  Last October they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. We had lunch with pulled pork sandwiches, homemade potato salad and lots of other salads and cake and coffee at the church, both of my brothers and my sister were able to attend. It was a lovely party and the church social hall was packed with friends and relatives.

This is a photo from the late 1940’s or early 1950’s.  I purchased this photo at the second Antique Shop in Dorset Minnesota.

A lovely couple, the bride in a satin dress with a beautiful bouquet with lots of ribbons and the groom with a wild tie. They seem very happy!

This is a photograph from the Antique Shop in Perham Minnesota.

I saw this photo an snatched it right up..it was a dollar!  A perfect late 1940’s perhaps even early 1950’s bride.  An Ivory or white satin dress with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves.  You cannot see the end of the sleeves near her hands…I wonder did they come to a point to showcase her hands? The beautiful flowers are in the way.  She wore a single strand of pearls. 

I think she looks very hollywoodish! (Is that a word?)

This is a photo from the Antique Shop in Motley that sells ice cream cones.  There are a couple of shops in Motley and a Flea Market.  It is a great little town for antiqueing.

This photo was taken by Hanapel of Tracy Minnesota.  The flap on the folder says Leona’s cousin Delores Danielowski and Chuck Lorenz. The beautiful bride is wearing a sensible suit and so is the groom.

I struck out on the photographer.  But I did find Charles Christopher Lorenz born Jan 31, 1925 and died February 1982 in Burlington, Wisconsin.  He was married to Delores Danielowski and they had three children Rebecca, Charles and Rodney.  Their son Charles was born in 1948 so I would think that they were married in 1946 or 1947.   What is way cool about this search..even though I ran into dead ends this family can trace their roots all the way back to 1715 in Germany with a Heinrich Lorenz..awesome!!

Perhaps Iggy or Abra can work some of their magic to get this photo back home.

Deloris was born August 6, 1923 & died Oct. 23 2009. According to the MOMS (Minnesota Official Marriage System), Deloris Lorraine Danielowski and Charles Christopher Lorenz were married 4/6/1947 in Redwood County MN. 

Charles Christopher Lorenz 2/28/1948 Brown County MN
Rebecca Lynn Lorenz 27 Sept 1949 Brown County MN
Rodney Keith born 8/17/1957 Blue Earth County MN

This is a snapshot from the Antique Shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
 
During the early 1940’s when we were thrust into WWII many a GI and his gal tied the knot before he went overseas.  These impromptu weddings took only a few days to plan.  It would not have been proper to have a huge fancy wedding when there was so much suffering going on in the world.  The war ended in 1944 (edited to 1945), so I would say that this wedding took place between 1940 and 1945. The bride and groom are dressed sensibly and have good clothes on and I am sure it was a special day.
