Clifford  M. Hursh and P.C. Hursh  are the names written on the back of this photo..with a fountain pen.   This photo could have been taken just about anywhere yet I suspect that it was taken in Minnesota..because of the clump Birch trees.  I will guess that this photo was taken around 1945.

Photo Number Forty-Six

Kathryn at 3 1/2 and Alice Mae at 8 months.   I think this photo was probably taken in the late 1940's.  It seemed to be a trend back then to photograph your children in the doorway outside, at least there was a blanket to sit on..do you suppose that they did this because they ran out of flashbulbs? Or did they just want an outdoor photo taken after a long winter?

I have two of these photos, both have writing on the back in the same hand.

One of the photos had been folded into tiny squares...I recall men wearing suit coats with their bib overhauls in the 1950's.  I don't quite to know what to make of this photo..at first glance I thought it was a man and a woman..but maybe not.  What do you think?

Look at these huge sleeves!  The mutton sleeves were first seen in 1824, but made a comeback in the 1890's. Sometimes they were called Leg of Mutton sleeves.   This photo was taken in 1898 or 1899 at the Shepherd Studio in St. Paul Minnesota.  I like their wicker furniture!

This is probably Ruth..but she might be Gladys.

I believe that this photo was probably taken in the 1940's.  The Bawden Studio in St. Paul is elusive..I ran into a brick wall with this one.

I call this one "1950's baby"   I do remember little boys having these one piece outfits..blue on the bottom, white on the top and some little Teddy Bear or Rocking Horse on the front.  It was a tradition in the 1950's to take a photo of your children on their first birthday at a photography studio..it was like a rite of passage.

This gal has a friend named Agnes.  This is a Real Photo Postcard.   This was a very interesting era in photography..you could have a postcard made out of any photo beginning about 1903. Kodak was instrumental in this process.

Someone cut the edges of the photo off..and in doing so part of the message is gone.  This card was never mailed..perhaps it was hand delivered to Agnes.  This Real Photo Postcard dates from 1904 to 1918.

Agnes Henrietta Arfstrom was the daughter of Gustav William Arfstrom and Ellen Peterson. The family lived in Eagle Lake, Otter Tail, Minnesota in 1910.

She was born on 27 Dec 1902 and married Walter H Taylor on 17 May 1946.

The couple lived in Spokane, Washington.

She is Find A Grave Memorial# 125277776
