This is a photo from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
A couple on their wedding day in the 1940’s. I am not sure what kind of car is in the background. During the war years 1941 to 1945 many weddings were simple and spur of the moment before a soldier shipped out.
I tried to read the license plate with no luck. This was a photo taken by someone who developed their own film, there were two photos and the other is the reversed image of this one.
The bride wears a huge corsage on her below the knee length dress. The groom wears a suit and tie with a boutonniere.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
I'm not 100% sure of the car either - the 1937-9-ish Plymouth sedans looked a lot like this - but with the rear only angle - its hard to tell for sure!
ReplyDeleteI think the plate says:
Minnesota
429 154
Land of 10,000 Lakes
...I wonder who counted them all...
Sweet couple.
