This is a photograph from the antique shop in Brainerd Minnesota.

Anderson’s Studio in Milnor N. D. was the photographer.  His full name was Haldor (Walter) Anderson, from what I could gather he came to American from Norway in about 1870 and he lived in Minnesota a short time before moving to Milnor ND.  He apparently operated a Photo Studio for many years. I have seen these long bookmark type photos of his before.  He seemed to like them.

Sadly we have no idea who the little boy is.  Someone who lived near Milnor ND in the 1920’s or 1930’s.  The child is posed near an old ice cream parlor stool/table and he is holding some kind of toy.  He wears a suit that is sailor inspired.

Full Circle 70

The phone rang one evening and a gal asked for me.  It was Jackie in this photo.

Photo Number 1191

Jackie lives in Albert Lea Minnesota now.  Iggy found an address for her, the copy of the blog was returned to me but the post office had one of those yellow tags with a new address, so I re mailed it.  A few days later the phone rang.  Jackie is a lovely lady, she will be 81 years old on May 2nd and used to live in Casper Wyoming, her son still lives there with her grandchildren.  Her son is in Law Enforcement.

About the photo:  She said that it was taken in the 1948/1949 school year when she was a Junior.  She went to high school at Freeborn and the girls were known as the “Hartland Sirens.”  She was not a cheerleader her senior year.  The other women in the photo were her friends, Jeanie lives in New Richland Minnesota, Gloria lives in Minneapolis, and the “me” is Elloyce who was a year older and just happens to be Jackie’s Aunt.  They had a quick phone conversation about this photo, Elloyce was anxious to see it.  Jackie is sure that this is her own handwriting on the back of the photo..but she doesn’t remember why she wrote + me for Elloyce.

She is a lovely lady..we had an ever so nice visit!  It is always nice to return a photo to people who truly appreciate the effort!

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the Tin Ceiling in Park Rapids Minnesota.

Photo by Hausman of a darling little girl in a flowered dress with a big bow in her hair.

The postcard is an AZO with squares in the corner which dates it 1925 to 1940.   Sadly there is no identification on the photo.

This is a photo from the antique shop near Lake Park Minnesota.

Vernon Portraits was the photographer in Glenwood Minnesota.

I imagine these little girls having red hair.  They are a cute as they can be in their homemade dresses that are worn with heavy stockings.

Vernon Studio was in business during the 1940’s in Glenwood.  The portrait  folder is very art deco.

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

I wonder what happened?  Was she born with just one arm?

The children are Clayton Felton and Elvera Felton .  The photo was taken In Mishawaka Ind. by C. F. Kaylor  and was sent to Miss Katie Shuber So. Bend RFD 6 Ind. Box 66

This is an AZO postcard  that we can date from 1904 to 1918.

Update from Iggy:
The 1910 US census shows Clayton E Felton (age 8) living with his parents George A and Emma in Madison, St. Joseph county, Indiana along with sister "Alvera" (age 4).
Clayton is listed as a school teacher and later principal in South Bend, Indiana.
He married M. Mae, and is buried  next to his parents.

Sister Elvera (30 Apr 1905 - 10 Dec 2001), married a George Marker and they are buried in nearby Woodland, St. Joseph County, Indiana. 

The 1940 US Census shows they had a daughter named Jennifer (b. circa 1932)

Elvera's daughter, Jennifer Marker, married Milton E. Shaul (2 Oct 1924 - 13 Mar 1990) and had a family that is still living in South Bend area.

A young boy in what appears to be short pants and a jacket with a huge silk bow at his neck.  This is an AZO postcard which dates from 1904 to 1918.

Dorothy Jean and Marjorie Anne Age 9 months 1921.

One a side note, nowadays twins are often born by C section…years ago many twins did not survive.
