ReplyDeleteWonder if Estherville was big enough to have a "city" directory back then. Either that, or perhaps Sadie's over-written letter "c" for her brother's surname is misleading us. Tried several approaches, but nothing here, either :(
I think the last letter could be 'y' for Recoy. I have found plenty of Recoy names, but not a for sure match. I haven't yet connected a Sadie from the Hutchinson/McLeod county area, though there are a few of those, as well.
ReplyDeleteI think this is supposed to Jesse John Reko. he works for the railroad, and spent some time down in Iowa. At this time his parents were living in Hutchinson Minnesota. He had a brother named Louis Earnest Reko who married Sadie Reese, a native of that town. Jesse John married her sister Abigail. The girls were the daughters of Josiah S. Reese and Jane Burton Reese.
