Clifford Chester Bennefeld 5 months 10 days  Love from Minnie

It is addressed to Mrs Peter Brooks who is Clara Helen Gordon Brooks  Born 8 November 1883 in Minnesota and died May 19 1977 in Norman County Minnesota.

Minnie was Clara’s sister

Minnie Gordon Bennefeld 1885-1975 Minnie married Frank August Bennefeld 1887-1963  They had at least four children.  Morris Milo 1913 –1980, Alice Florence 1916-1919, and Twins a boy and a girl.  The girl is simply listed as Baby Bennefled Nov 4 1918-Nov 4 1918.  There is a note at Find A Grave that says the boy is still alive in the 1920 census.  That boy is possibly Clifford Chester.

According to Ancestry, the boy born in 1918 name is Lester Carrol Bennefield
Birth Date: 4 Nov 1918.

Clara Helen Gordon Brooks born Nov 8 1883 in Minnesota and died May 19 1977 in Norman County Minnesota. She married Peter Brooks who was born in England in 1879 and died in 1927 in Ada Minnesota. 
Clara's parents were Gilbert Gordon 1862-1927 and Olava Evenstad Gordon 1864-1937. 
Clara had at least four sisters and one brother; Minnie Gordon Bennefeld 1885-1975, Hannah Louisa Gordon Cowell 1887-1963, Amanda 1893-1905, George Oliver 1897-1967 and Alice Florence 1900-1901.

A special mix :) The foreign language is Norwegian, but written with several dialect (non-standard) words. I'm guessing the dialect is mountain area of southern Norway (Northern Gudbrandsdal), but there is not much to go on...

"Ja, hur gaar det med helsa og kjærligheden" = "Yes, how is your health and love (life)"

"Ja, ka i (kyren?) ska doeker gjere no, naar daaku ha soldt ut?" = "Yes, what (the heck?) will you do now, when you have sold out?"
