SHIMANEK, Evelyn Colleen (BARESEL); 66; Park Rapids MN  She died April 20 1999.  Her husband was Louis Edwin Shimanek they had no children.

Ben Knutson was born in Norway in 1877 and immigrated in 1892.   He married Lena.

"Aamund K. Flaat was born Jan. 31, 1863, in Evje, Norway, to parents Kittel Aaneson Flaat and Helga Norby Flaat. Mr. Flaat emigrated to America in 1884 settling on Sec. 6-49-149 in Bentru Township. He married Thora Torkelson in 1888 who passed
away in 1901. Mr. Flaat married Anne Ode of Evje, Norway in 1915. Children born were: Aslag, Berget, Randy, Helen, Kittel, Emma, and Charles.
Mr. and Mrs. Flaat were members of the East Walle Lutheran Church.
Mr. Flaat passed away in Sept., 1934. "

I asked her to share a bit about her Father.

Daddy served in WWII and in the Japan occupation after.  Then he came to northern Illinois to work at Johns Manville.  Aunt Lucille was a farmer's wife and we spent many memorable summer vacations on the farm outside Detroit Lakes.  She made the best doughnuts and sugar cookies!

Pastor  + Mrs O.T. Ness + Ardean

The photographer was Lee’s Studio in Grand Forks ND.

This is possibly Pastor Ole T Ness born Nov 15 1877 and died Sept 16 1941

His wife Gerda J born Oct 29 1886 and died March 26 1973

Ardean Ness born October 4 1921 and died July 7 1982

All are buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Forks ND

I will guess that this photo was taken about 1931, I wonder if they had more children?
