This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

Ollason of Missoula Montana was the photographer.

I think that this Cabinet Card is from 1889 or 1890.  Montana became a State in 1889.

The groom has the top button on his suit buttoned.  The bride  is wearing a gown that appears to have an apron type front which could be bustled in the back.  The gown has very tight sleeves.  Lace trims the sleeves and the neckline.  The bride wears fingerless gloves and clutches a rolled up something in her right hand.  She wears a bridal bonnet and appears to have flowers tucked into the front of her gown.  I will guess that this gown is Ivory in color.

This is a Cabinet Card that I purchased at the antique shop in Duluth Minnesota.

Thomas was the Photographer in Negaunee Michigan.

They are holding hands.  She wears a gown trimmed in lace at the upper part of the bodice and the sleeves.  She also wears a rather large bow at her waist.  He wears a suit with a vest/waistcoat, and his shoes look brand new.  He wears a flower and she may have a flower on the left side of her lacy bodice.  I wonder what color her dress was?  I will guess that it was dark grey or brown so that she could wear it again.

I will guess that this Cabinet Card was made in 1893 or 1894.

It is June!  June is wedding month, we will look at all kinds of wedding photographs.

This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.  Not your typical wedding photo, but I believe it is one because the gentleman is holding the rolled up marriage certificate.  He wears a suit buttoned with only the top button which was often the style  in the early 1880’s.  The brides gown looks to be velvet and it may have had a bustle of some sort, the skirt looks like it is draped in the front. The gown is trimmed with lace cuffs and a lace collar.  She is standing on a mat of straw while he sits in a hammock, I suppose it is supposed to look like they are outdoors.

There are no clues with this old Cabinet Card, who or where it was taken.

This is a graduation photo from the antique shop in Brainerd Minnesota.

The photographer was Christianson Studio St. Cloud Minnesota.  Earl and Lloyd Christianson were photographers there in 1935 and 1936.  I am not sure if this photo fits that time frame.

It isn’t very often that you see a REAL graduation photo complete with cap and gown.

This is a graduation photo from the antique shop in Brainerd Minnesota.

Love Pat. Art Craft of St. Cloud took this photo.  They were in business in 1947.  Rosemary Yaeger was the photographer.

Pat is beautiful, in a blouse trimmed in lace and a cross necklace.  Pat smiles with her eyes!

We will look at a few old Graduation photos this week until June rolls around…  June is always Wedding month!

Love Bernice.  This photo was taken at Carl Fritz of St. Cloud Minnesota.  I purchased the photo at a antique shop in Brainerd Minnesota.  I will guess that Bernice graduated sometime in the 1940’s.  Carl Fritz was in St. Cloud from 1943 to 1953 and then again in the 1970’s.

Bernice wears a simple white blouse with a necklace. Her hair was most likely finger waved and pin curled.
