Photo Number 540

This is a Cabinet Card from Solway, Minnesota.

The women are unidentified, but I suspect that they  might be a Mother and her daughters.  They all have lots of buttons and lots of pleats in their heavy skirts.  The gal on the left has some kind of circles on her dress..three on each side of her buttons.

The photographer was P E Lynne of Crookston, Minnesota.  He was a photographer there from 1894 to 1896 and then around 1900.  The ladies dresses seem to point to the year 1900. I wonder what the occasion was?

This is an interesting “little” photo.  I purchased it in Bemidji, Minnesota.

It measures 1 1/2 inches by 2 1/4 inches.  It is a mini CdV.  For some reason it seems foreign to me.. and from the late 1880’s

This is a tiny little photo from The Antique Shop in Bemidji, Minnesota.

These small photos must have been used for school photos.  The photo is 1 inch by 1 1/4 inch,  it is pasted on the 2 1/2 inch by 3 inch very heavy cardstock.

This is a snapshot from the Antique Shop in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Looks like someone was to Hawaii and brought back shirts and lei’s for the older boys.  The poor little girl only got a lei.

That old clothes line pole certainly needs straightening.  I am reminded in these old photos that the grass in the lawn was only cut a couple of times a year.  We used to cut our grass with one of the old whirly bladed push mowers..it was hard to push in long grass. If the grass was too long, we raked it up and threw it over the fence to the cows.

Update: Info From Norkio on the shoes:
The shoes the boy is wearing are called Brogans or similar. The girl has on Mary Jane's. They were probably inexpensive single last or double last shoes. I forget when they went to the double last. Might have been at the turn of the century.
