A little girl in a hat!  Her dress looks almost "flapperish" with the dropped waist..so I will date this photo 1920.

We are headed North to grandsit for a few days..I will be trying out the new laptop..so this will be the end of the hats for awhile.   I hope to get to a few antique shops to find some more photos..the hunt is part of the adventure.  I loaded a few old photos on the laptop..so hopefully I should be able to write this blog from afar..if not I will be back in a few days.

Two gals posing for a photo, sisters, cousins, friends?  I would like to call this one..city meets country..the gal on the right is obviously shy, and instead of a coat she has a shawl..and her hat seems to be simpler.  As for the year..I am not certain..maybe the 1930's.

This lady is all dressed up.  This photo was probably taken on Easter Sunday, with the hat and gloves..I think she may have a bracelet on over the top of the gloves..fancy!  Cute little short jacket too..I wonder if she sewed her own outfit. I believe that this is a typical photo from the 1950's.

There is a house number on this photo and that is about it.  I bet this is a mother and her son. Probably taken in the 1940's sometime.  I have no idea what kind of hat this is..but I bet it matches her dress.

My Mother and Grandmother wore hats like these in the 1950's.  They just kind of perched on your head..they had two thingys ( hard pieces of covered wire)  that came down and gripped your head..except if you were little and your head was small then they fell off anyway. Often times these hats had bits of netting in the front..very glamorous!

This one looks like a mother and daughter to me.  The younger gal has gloves and a cool purse, they are all dressed up to go someplace.   I will date this in the late 1940's or early 1950's.  There should be a name for that hard sided purse..I used to play with one like it when I was little.  These gals hats compliment their outfits perfectly!

This granny is really dressed up!  Complete with gloves.  I read where hats and gloves were all just part of good etiquette.  Hats were often changed many times a day and only beggars went bareheaded.  This granny is headed someplace important..to church..perhaps to a wedding..in the late 1940's. I love the way her clutch purse is secured under her arm.
