Short haircuts and styles made things a lot easier for setting as women would set their hair nightly. One of the three main haircuts of the period was a short haircut, the top of the three being a middy cut. The baby (the shortest) was 4 inches long at the longest point. The longest was referred to as a long middy. When the hair was set, the curls would naturally shorten. I set my in pin curls (as was popular in the day) quite often and my hair (which is cut in a modified middy) is just past my shoulders at the longest point. When I brush the set out, it's just under my ears. I also have pictures of my grandmother with a very short haircut dating all the way back to 1937.

Hope that helps. :) Molly M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07924356468175214770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-66491596243762783232013-06-27T17:26:47.364-05:002013-06-27T17:26:47.364-05:00No Winnipeg..or Winterpeg as some people call it! ...No Winnipeg..or Winterpeg as some people call it! The guy looks like he's about to break out into a Fred Astaire dance. :) I hope they lived long and happy lives together.Anitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08180243708565855383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-85703391022118848242013-06-27T10:49:16.061-05:002013-06-27T10:49:16.061-05:00Looks like my grandma's wedding bouquet.Looks like my grandma's wedding bouquet.Molly M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07924356468175214770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-13184421483703390592013-06-27T10:30:29.039-05:002013-06-27T10:30:29.039-05:00It looks like he is playing an invisible violin! It looks like he is playing an invisible violin!Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14572358508245048036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-70386899455524860732013-06-27T08:50:33.518-05:002013-06-27T08:50:33.518-05:00I a-wonder whats-a the guy is sayin'.
