Saurman and Othniel S. Saurman, were all photographers. James started out as a photographer in Lancaster, PA, in the 1870s, but then moved on to Colordo, Kansas City (KS/MO?), Leavenworth, KS, and St. Joseph, MO. The higher-positioned woman seems to be protecting the other. I sense a bond between them.Anitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08180243708565855383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-46669896580861888512014-03-22T16:12:05.073-05:002014-03-22T16:12:05.073-05:00Susanna Rosalie cracked the mystery.

Unfortunately, I could not come up with a recent e-mail-contact to a researcher yet. The only one I found (without having to register at a genealogy website) was from 2001. I will try some more later.<br /><br />This is a short biography published in 1918 about Herschel Bartlett (1841- 1920) and his brother William H. Bartlett (1845 - 1904). They had the Bartletts Brothers Investment & Loan Company in St. Joseph. A park in the town has been named after the Bartletts and the Mausoleum is a waymark.<br /><br />genealogytrails.com/mo/buch/bio_b.htm#bartlett_herschel<br /><br />http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMHA68_William_Bartlett_Mausoleum_Mount_Mora_Cemetery_St_Joseph_Mo<br /><br />So it might well be that Emily and Annie Bartlett are somehow related to the honorable Bartlett brothers of St. Joseph.<br /><br />There is a Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society, which I have not checked out yet.<br /><br />http://nwmogenealogy.com/index.php?lang=en<br /><br /><br />Susanna Rosaliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11440640988741126223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-4553361571272697672014-03-22T10:52:22.086-05:002014-03-22T10:52:22.086-05:00The photographer is J.
