I do believe the people in the photo to be first cousins to my great-grandfather, Hugh Rutherford Heiney (1878-1960). Hugh's mother was Maria (Rhumstay) Hiney (1842-1914), and Maria's sister, Sarah (Rhumstay) Hoxie (1846-??), was the mother to Welcome, William, Dora, Frank, Delia, Celia, Esther and Ralph Hoxie. Maria and Sarah's parents were William and Esther (Rapp) Rhumstay. The family came to Wisconsin from Pennsylvania in 1845, settling first in Dane County, then in Sauk County. What a great picture! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17331215146732768578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-87545514282849932182015-07-06T16:41:54.570-05:002015-07-06T16:41:54.570-05:00Sue sent me an address for a relative. Elmer had possibly only two children--Gordon, born in 1927, and Lila Mae, born about 1934. I believe this is the grandson: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=21053191&ref=acom, and this is Lila Mae: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=21053191&ref=acom

What I've Found is that Celia and George had one son, Elmer. Elmer had two children, Gordon Lee Farrington (1927-2007), buried in Florida, and Lila Mae Farrington-Robinson (1933-1990), buried in Sioux City, Iowa. I did find some contact info for Gordon's children and will send via email.

Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01906952925403938979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-90432265056173093772015-07-05T10:57:00.330-05:002015-07-05T10:57:00.330-05:00According to a family tree I found, Marvin & E...According to a family tree I found, Marvin & Esther had three children: Ralph(1899), Clifford(1901), Sadie (1902). Esther would have been a young mother if these dates are correct, but I guess that wasn't all that uncommon back then.
Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01906952925403938979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2320880361203053560.post-33049812892467331172015-07-05T10:53:26.034-05:002015-07-05T10:53:26.034-05:00This had me puzzled for a moment, because the info...This had me puzzled for a moment, because the information I found, didn't quite match with the photo, as I was thinking Grandma was a separate person, and if Grandma was the parent to Aunt Esther and Aunt Delia and Uncle Ed, she and Gramp would have been dead before the picture was taken. Since there are only six people in the picture, I believe Celia is the one being referred to as Grandma, which would make George Farrington Gramp. If this was written by a grandchild, then the Aunts, and possibly Uncle are Great/Grand Aunts and Uncle. So here is who I believe these to be: Celia Etta Hoxie Farrington(b.1880), Esther Ruthama Hoxie Norton(b. 1883), Marvin Norton(b.1879), Delia Ethel Hoxie(b.1880), a twin sister to Celia (married name unsure), Uncle Ed is possible Delia's husband, or it could be Frank Edward Hoxie, a brother to the Hoxie sisters(I will do more searching), and finally, Gramp would be George Farrington (b.1870), Celia's husband. All of these folks resided in the Sioux City Iowa area.
