Photo Number 2343

These are snapshots from the antique shop in Brainerd Minnesota.
Hay stcks two Brainerd ant
This is a hayfield and that contraption must bring the hay closer to the haystack.  I am not certain how it works.

Here is a closer look . The fellows in the photo seem happy.
I sent a email to a modern day cowboy who uses many old ways of harvesting, perhaps he will be able to shed some light on this old photo.
Thanks for stopping by.
Update from Orden Hartley:
It looks like a hay baler. They are feeding the hay into it and it puts out square bales.

  3. From my friend R Dennis:
Looks like they are making hay bales.. they did this so to store
more and/or haul more.. this is a stationary machine and later inn they
made the ones we are familiar with that you could pull behind a
tractor.. hope all is well with you.

  4. So there's a little bit of agricultural history for you! Even though we have a couple museums nearby that include old farm implements, I hadn't seen one of those there, that I can recall. Wonder how old the photos are.
