Thanks for stopping by.

Update from Jacqi:
Myer Wahrhaftig lived for a while in Fresno, California--you can find him, his wife Rae, and their two daughters there in the 1940 census--but by the 1950s lived in Oakland, California.

Myer was born in "Russia" according to the census record, but that refers to the area within the Russian borders at the time of the 1940 census, which borders have since, of course, changed. He was born July 5, 1888, according to the death record in California, where he died September 15, 1955. He was a doctor.

  1. With a name like that, I figured it might be possible to find information on this exact person...and it was! Apparently, Myer Wahrhaftig lived for a while in Fresno, California--you can find him, his wife Rae, and their two daughters there in the 1940 census--but by the 1950s lived in Oakland, California.

While I couldn't find an entry for him at Find A Grave, I see on Ancestry that he is included in some family trees of subscribers there. Perhaps someone maintaining one of those trees is a close enough relative to be interested in obtaining the photo from you, Connie. I see it is already included in someone's tree there, either found on Craig's site, or from another copy in the possession of family members.

  2. This dude could also have been "classmates" with the previous photo. He's within a year or so of the same age.

    Wahrhaftig means "honest" or "truthful".

A famous one passed away -
