What a cutie, notice the bow ties on her shoes.
Dear Mrs. Lloyd, This is a picture of Virginia taken at Luna Park July 20. She is 21 months old now. I am enclosing it in an envelope as it may not be marred by postmark. Mrs. A. Seckel 10213 Flora Ave. Cleveland 7/22/07. This is an Azo Card with diamonds…used from 1907 to 1909.
Virginia must have been born in 1905…October possibly.
Finally a little insight into why some of these postcards have messages but no postmark.
Thanks for stopping by.
Update from Iggy:
This looks like Virginia May Seckel, born 11 Oct 1905 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of Albert Seckel and Lilian May Herick. Luna Park was a local amusement park (one of a chain of about 44 locations!)
She married Mr Clarence J Amstutz on 19 Jun 1929 and died on 20 Feb 1984.

Looks like they had three children; Clarence, Gretchen and Virginia all born in Youngstown Ohio.
DeleteI have a photo of my mother like this, she was born in 1917---
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable subject! Oh, I hope this one makes it Full Circle, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat to find a life of a person behind an innocent photo.
