This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
A family gathering for a wedding.
This is an AZO postcard with triangles up in the stamp box so we can date it from 1904 to 1918. From the women’s dresses most likely closer to the 1904 timeframe.
Thanks for stopping by.
What a grand occasion! How cute the little girl in the front is turned around. I'm guessing she wanted her daddy to pick her up.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite a good looking four square house. As my wife's family's aunts and uncles would marry , they would get a bedroom of their own in the family home until they could make a living and move out. It looks like a big family on both the bride and groom's side.
ReplyDeleteAs plain as the house might be, looking at the support columns and the supports under the eaves and the "gingerbread woodwork" I bet this house was painted up pretty fancy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gathering! I know it must have been a lot of work, but there is just something gladdening about seeing so many family and friends gathered at home for a wedding.
