Photo Number 1532

This is a Cabinet Card from Craig’s Collection.

Peter Langstreet CP

Simpson was the photographer at 223 Market Street Paterson, N.J.  I found that he was there in 1889 to 1890.

If you look closely at this photo it has a indented or raised up area that frames the subject.  It shows up better on the reverse side.  They must have had some kind of a press that the photo and card were put into.

  2. Is it possible the indentation was caused by a frame?

    1. No, I don't think so. It is something imprinted to the cardstock.

  3. Peter Langstreet (abt 1845 in Holland) immigrated in 1870, married to Kate Langstreet (abt 1845 in Holland).

The couple had six child, unfortunately the names aren't readable in the 1900 US census beyond, Nelson and John. They "regularized" the spelling of their name to Longstreet and moved to Paris, Kent county, Michigan. Peter was a gardener at a "french garden".

Find A Grave Memorial# 122541118 is Peter, Find A Grave Memorial# 122540946 is his wife.
