Photo Number 1184

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the first antique shop in Dorset Minnesota.

This is an Azo postcard from 1904 to 1918.  I would say closer to the 1918 date because of the length of the ladies skirts.

That is a good sized house.  It looks like it has a summer kitchen and screened in porch off to the left.

Milo B. Cross/Kross (DOB 1869) and his wife Rachel (DOB 1877) living in Winnebago, Faribault County, Minnesota. Children: Hal born in 1895, Alta born in 1896, Dora born in 1898, Walter born in 1899, Gladys born in 1901, Stanley born in 1908, Maurice born in 1913,Warren born in 1916. Milo was a farmer, born in MN. Rachel was born in Indiana. All children born in MN.

Rachel Cross' obituary states she died in 1960 and was survived by the following children:

Stanley, Walter, and Maurice of Anaheim, California;
Warren of Winnebago, MN;
Mrs. Leonard Caudle of Jewell, Iowa; (Alta)
Mrs. Clarence Jones of Minneapolis

  1. Doors on the corner of houses like this were called casket doors but I don't think this one seems to be any wider than a normal door. It is a large house with many rooms.

  3. If Grandma is right, Milo's family scattered into the winds.

    Rachel Cross' obituary states she died in 1960 and was survived by the following children:

    Stanley, Walter, and Maurice of Anaheim, California;
    Warren of Winnebago, MN;
    Mrs. Leonard Caudle of Jewell, Iowa;
    Mrs. Clarence Jones of Minneapolis

    and by 24 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren (as of 1960!)
