This is a photo from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
Her hair looks like the style from the 1910-1915 time frame, parted in the center and poufy. Sometimes the hair was pulled over “rats” ( forms filled with their own hair). Those almost bare shoulders and frothy looking gown could have been from that time also. I am more familiar with the high necked fashions that showed very little skin.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
Mornin' Connie! When I was a little girl, we had elderly sister neighbors,Nora and Dora. They remembered wearing rats in their hair and shared photos with us.
ReplyDeleteA glamorous dress and hairstyle, made me look for makeup and jewelry. She appears to have minimal foundation, blush, and lipstick and very small earrings, if any... not that she needed it. Also, that may be the standard of the time?
ReplyDeleteWonder if that was the "glamour" shot of that time period?
