Photo Number 1147

This week we will look at hairstyles!

The photo today is from blog reader Audrey.

Hi! I found the attached photo in an antique mall and I knew I had to email it to you to see if you can help!

This hand colored photo was at the bottom of a stack of old post and calling cards in a small leather wallet. There is nothing in the wallet and no writing on the back that can give me any clues as to who this 1940s beauty is. The antique store is located in Des Moines, Iowa and I thought that since your blog features photos found in Minnesota, maybe, just maybe this was a Minnesota native whose photo happened to land in Iowa. I have contacted the store to see if the vendor who sold the photo can give me details on the estate it may have come from, if any. Until then, maybe your readers can shed some light? Thanks so much for the consideration! Audrey

Mystery Lady

This young gal is wearing a velvet dress with a sweetheart neckline, she may be wearing a matching jacket over the dress.  She looks young to me..17 maybe 18 years old.  She is lovely.

Sometimes posting these unidentified photos is like a shot in the dark..but you never know..someone may know her.

Thanks for stopping by.  Do come again:)

  2. I love how hairstyles change through the ages and that they're a good way of dating some photos. She is a pretty young girl. Hope you find her family!

  3. Didn't people take so much more pride in their appearances?
