Photo Number 1109

This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Grand Forks North Dakota.

Cabinet Card of a Man from Jen Grand Forks Antique Mall

A. P. Holand was the photographer at So. 3rd St. Grand Forks N. Dak

Albert P. Holand, Grand Forks photographer, 222 South Third. (1891-1892 Grand Forks Business Directory)

The young man wears wool trousers that are striped, his suit jacket and vest match, he wears a large tied tie (Relaxed Windsor Style) and holds a fur hat in his hand.  A necktie was often tied in a “four in hand knot”  If the tie was tightened up it was more of a half Windsor Style, if it was loosened up it was more of a full relaxed Windsor style.

Thanks for stopping by.  Do come again:)

  1. Bittersweet memories of the striped men's pants of the 1970s have come flooding back.

The photographer, A. P. Holand, probably is the Albert P. Holand [October 4, 1862 - March 12, 1927] buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Grand Forks, North Dakota.
