Having six children was not unusual so I would say the kids are all siblings, children of Mr. and Mrs. Arnie [Arnold?] Strand. I'm guessing the photogragh was taken about 1960. Back then I had very similar drapes in my living room. Oh, how I wish I still had them. Along with some other things, I should start looking for them on eBay, too!
Mr. and Mrs. Arnie Strand no doubt were proud of their children [the smallest girl is truly adorable] but with five girls they probably had five weddings to pay for -- oh my! [and I wonder how many of those marriages "stuck" long-term]
I feel sorry for the Strands' only son. He, being a middle child and only boy with five sisters, must have had many challenges growing up. At least he should not have had to wear any family hand-me-downs, except maybe for a stocking cap and/or scarf from Mr. Strand.
I've had no luck yet in searching for similar swell drapes on eBay -- but I'll not give up! Mrs. Strand and I probably would have gotten along really well, too.
